The Power Within: How Energy Medicine is Redefining Wellness with Rich “Chi” Christopher

When it comes to wellness, most people think of diet, exercise, and sleep, but few think about energy. Not the kind that comes from caffeine or sugar, but the bioelectric energy that flows through every cell in our body.

On a recent episode of “A Healthy Point of View” podcast, Sam Tejada, CEO and Founder of Liquivida®, sat down with Rich Christopher, also known as Rich Chi, a wellness coach who’s mastered the art of energy medicine and bioelectric healing. Together, they explored how understanding the body’s energy circuits can unlock new levels of vitality, balance, and longevity.

He Can Feel Energy Flow Through the Body — Here’s How You Can Too! Rich Chi | Ep. 98

From Overtraining to Awakening

Rich’s journey into energy medicine wasn’t planned; it was born from pain. Growing up in Buffalo, New York, he was a natural athlete who lived by the “no pain, no gain” mentality. By 19, he was training for MMA, boxing with Olympic athletes, and at the peak of physical performance, or so he thought.

“One day, my heart rate shot up over 200,” he recalled. “It wouldn’t go down. I was rushed to the hospital I almost died.”

Doctors ran every test imaginable, but everything came back “normal.” Rich was fit, yet completely drained. That near-death experience became his turning point. “How could I be so healthy and almost die at the same time?” he asked. “They were missing something.”

That “something” was energy.

Rediscovering the Body’s Electric Blueprint

Modern medicine recognizes the body’s electrical nature, brain signals, heartbeats, and muscle contractions, yet it largely ignores the circuits that connect them. Thousands of years ago, Chinese and Ayurvedic healers mapped these energy channels or meridians long before technology could detect them.

“Anything going wrong with the body is one of two things,” Rich explained. “Either you don’t have enough voltage going through that circuit, or it’s blocked. It’s like a short circuit, the energy can’t flow.”

Rich learned to see the human body as an electrical system: every organ powered by invisible currents. When energy is low or blocked, imbalance follows physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Recharging the Body, Mind, and Spirit

Rich began his “holistic rehab” by rebuilding his body from the inside out. He changed how he ate, moved, slept, and thought. Acupuncture became a core part of his healing, followed by yoga, breathwork, and what he later developed into his Muscle Release System, a method designed to open the body’s circuits and restore flow.

“You can’t just stretch tight muscles,” he said. “If a muscle is tight and you pull on it, it doesn’t relax; it tightens more. You have to teach the body to release tension, not fight it.”

That realization became the foundation for his coaching philosophy: building and opening the body’s energy channels through intentional movement, rest, breath, and clean nutrition.

The True Meaning of “Clean”

When asked what “eating clean” really means, Rich didn’t hold back: “It’s whole foods, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, healthy fats. Fresh food literally has more voltage. The more chemicals and additives we add, the more energy it takes for the body to process them.”

He believes every meal either charges or drains your system. Eating natural, unprocessed food keeps the body’s energy high, something no supplement can replace.

Emotional Energy: The Invisible Blockage

But not all blockages are physical. Some are emotional. “Emotions can literally get stuck in your body,” Rich said. “You can be eating right and working out, but if you’re holding onto regret, sadness, or fear, that’s a blockage.”

In Chinese medicine, emotions are considered one of the leading causes of internal disease. Rich encourages clients to find emotional outlets talking to someone, walking in nature, or listening to music.

“Anxiety is the hardest one,” he added. “You feel something’s wrong, but you don’t know what it is. When you open your body, decompress your spine, and breathe, it brings the emotion from the subconscious to the surface. Once you’re aware of it, you can finally deal with it.”

The Science of Energy and Longevity

As Rich describes it, longevity isn’t about how long you live, it’s about how long you stay alive in mind and body.
“We’re born with a certain amount of vital energy,” he said. “As we age, that energy declines. But how steep that decline is depends on how you live, whether you drain it fast or preserve it.”

His approach to “recharging wellness” combines nutrition, movement, emotional awareness, and energy flow to slow that decline, helping people “feel 10 years younger” not just on paper, but in their daily lives.

The Mindset Shift: From Medicine to Mastery

One of the most powerful moments in the conversation came when Sam asked who controls our emotions. Rich’s answer was both profound and practical: “I think fear controls most people. But the more you meditate and get in tune with your higher self, the less control fear has over you.”

He referenced a timeless teaching: “The kingdom of heaven is within you.”
“To me,” he said, “that means bliss, joy, and peace already exist inside of us. The work is staying in that state even when life tests us.”

A Message of Encouragement and Connection

After years of global training and deep introspection, Rich’s message is simple yet powerful:
“We are electric. If you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything. We were designed to live at a higher level of wellness, not just survive, but thrive.”

His parting wisdom was rooted in compassion: “When you have more energy, you can give more energy. Encourage others your friends, coworkers, your kids. Encouragement might be the most powerful form of energy transfer there is.”
