The Silent Health Crisis No One’s Talking About—and How to Fix It

Our modern health system is built on a foundation of treating symptoms rather than addressing the root causes of disease. Metabolic diseases, such as diabetes and obesity, have become epidemic, yet the conventional approach continues to mask these issues with medication rather than offering solutions that target the problem itself.

Ben Azadi, a leading health expert, founder of Keto Kamp, and author of Metabolic Freedom, is on a mission to change this. His work challenges the status quo, urging individuals to take control of their health and reverse chronic illness through natural, evidence-backed methods. His book and approach emphasize not just managing symptoms but understanding the underlying causes of metabolic disease and, more importantly, how to prevent and reverse them.

93% of Americans Have THIS Metabolic Disorder | How to Fix It Naturally

In a conversation with Sam Tejada, CEO and Founder of Liquivida® on “A Healthy Point of View” podcast, Ben opens up about his personal journey, the book’s mission, and the future of healthcare.

Metabolic Disease: The Silent Epidemic

Ben’s mission revolves around helping people understand the root causes of metabolic disease—something he’s passionate about due to his personal experience with his father’s health struggles. “My dad died in 2014 from a metabolic disease, diabetes, which led to a stroke,” Ben shared, revealing that he dedicated his book, Metabolic Freedom, to his late father. “I wish I would’ve had this as a resource when my dad was going through his issues. He would still be around today.”

This personal loss inspired Ben to help others understand that symptoms are not the cause of illness but rather the result of deeper metabolic dysfunctions. He criticized conventional medicine for masking symptoms rather than addressing root causes.

“In the US, we spend $4.6 trillion on healthcare every year, yet we rank among the worst in health outcomes,” Ben pointed out. “The pharmaceutical industry is thriving while we remain sicker than ever before. But the good news is that metabolic diseases like Type 2 diabetes are 100% preventable and reversible.”

Why the Current Healthcare Model is Failing Us

The system isn’t broken it’s designed this way—to create lifetime customers, not healthy individuals. Doctors are often well-intentioned but trained in a system that focuses on managing symptoms with medication rather than addressing the root causes.

“We’re not deficient in medications,” Ben pointed out. “We’re toxic, inflamed, and metabolically broken.”

The real problem, is not just what we eat—but what’s eating us. Chronic stress, environmental toxins, insulin resistance, and mitochondrial dysfunction are destroying our health from the inside out.

The Real Villains: Inflammation, Insulin Resistance, and Toxicity

One of the most misunderstood aspects of metabolic health is the role of insulin resistance and mitochondrial dysfunction.

“When your mitochondria—the energy factories in your cells—aren’t working well, everything suffers,” Ben explained. “It’s the root of so many conditions: fatigue, weight gain, hormonal imbalances, and even cognitive decline.”

Insulin resistance is another silent epidemic. Most people are walking around in a chronically fed state, snacking throughout the day, never allowing their body to tap into its natural fat-burning mode. This constant glucose spike keeps insulin levels high, promoting inflammation and storing fat.

On top of this, we’re bombarded with toxins—plastics, pesticides, heavy metals, and processed food additives—that clog up our detox pathways. “If your drainage pathways are blocked,” Ben warned, “you’re essentially recycling your own toxins.”

From Diet to Detox: Practical Solutions for Lasting Change

Metabolic Freedom, Ben Azadi’s latest book doesn’t just diagnose the problem—it offers a roadmap to recovery. Split into two parts, the first half tackles the root causes of metabolic disease—ranging from processed food to environmental toxins. The second half provides actionable solutions: a 30-day step-by-step program that includes advanced fasting strategies, keto protocols, detoxification techniques, and mindset tools.

“What we eat, when we eat, and how we live all matter,” Ben explained. “But unless you remove the interference—like inflammation, insulin resistance, and toxins—you can’t truly heal.”

The book is packed with tools for both beginners and advanced health seekers, including keto-friendly recipes, weekly protocols, and expert insights from leaders like Gary Brecka, Dr. Jason Fung, and Dr. Pompa.

The MAHA Movement: Making America Healthy Again

Ben is also a part of the MAHA Movement (Make America Healthy Again). The initiative, supported by health leaders like RFK Jr., Gary Brecka, and Jeff Hays, is a campaign to shift the healthcare model from sick care to self-care.

Ben recently participated in the MAHA documentary, produced by Jeff Hays (known for Doctored and Bought), which aims to expose the flaws in the healthcare system and highlight powerful, natural solutions.

Importantly, Ben clarified the movement is not political. “This isn’t about Trump. It’s not about red vs. blue,” he emphasized. “Your cells don’t care about politics—they care about inflammation, insulin, and environment.”

Empowerment Over Dependency

At its core, Ben’s message is about personal responsibility and empowerment. Sam and Ben stressed that no government, doctor, or pill is going to save you. You have to become the CEO of your health, stop outsourcing your decisions. Start asking better questions.

That starts with education—but it’s followed by action. Fasting, eating clean, reducing stress, sweating regularly, optimizing sleep—these simple, powerful habits can literally reverse disease and add years to your life.

Don’t wait until you’re sick to start caring about your health, the future of medicine isn’t in more pills—it’s in more knowledge, better habits, and real human connection.
