What Your Breath Can Tell You About Living Longer and Healthier with PNOĒ

What if the secret to achieving a longer, healthier life was as simple as the air you breathe? Imagine a world where every breath you take reveals critical insights into your body’s health, guiding you toward a more vibrant and energetic future. Thanks to PNOĒ, that world is here. On A Healthy Point of View podcast, hosted by Sam Tejada CEO of Liquivida®, a fascinating conversation unfolded with Apostolos Atsalakis, the co-founder of PNOĒ, a revolutionary health technology company. Together, they explored how PNOĒ is redefining personalized health through advanced breath analysis, empowering individuals and healthcare providers to make data-driven decisions for better living.

How PNOE is Transforming Health Through Breath Analysis | Apostolos Atsalakis | Ep. 25

Breath Analysis: A New Frontier in Health

At the heart of PNOĒ’s mission lies the ability to analyze human breath to provide actionable insights into health and longevity. This non-invasive diagnostic method offers unparalleled precision in assessing vital health metrics such as VO2 max and Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR). As Atsalakis explained, “Every single biomarker in the blood has a corresponding biomarker in breath.” This discovery forms the foundation of PNOĒ’s technology.

From Cambridge to Clinics

Atsalakis’s journey into breath analysis began during his studies at Cambridge, where a lecture on the potential of breath diagnostics sparked his interest. Together with co-founder Panos Papadiamadis, he developed a portable device capable of democratizing VO2 max testing. Launched in 2018, PNOĒ quickly gained traction for its user-friendly design and actionable results.

VO2 Max: The Longevity Metric Everyone Needs

VO2 max, the maximum amount of oxygen your body can use during intense exercise, is often seen as a measure reserved for elite athletes. But Atsalakis emphasized its universal importance. “VO2 max is the strongest predictor of longevity,” he said. “It tells us how well your lungs, heart, and metabolism work together—and the higher your VO2max, the better your chances of living longer and healthier.”

Through a quick test involving light exercise while wearing a mask, PNOĒ calculates VO2 max and links it to biological age.

PNOĒ’s innovation makes this once-complex test accessible to everyone. “A sixth-grader can understand the results,” said Tejada, highlighting how the intuitive reports empower individuals to take control of their health.

RMR: Precision Nutrition Tailored to You

While VO2 max often steals the spotlight, PNOĒ’s RMR test might be its most powerful tool for everyday users. By simply breathing into the device for eight minutes at rest, users receive a detailed report on their caloric needs, fat-to-carb utilization, and metabolic efficiency.

“We can see exactly how many calories your body burns and create a custom nutrition plan tailored to your needs,” Atsalakis explained. “It’s not about guessing; it’s about precision.”

Tejada, a passionate advocate for data-driven health, highlighted how this feature transforms wellness. “For too long, people have been supplementing or dieting blindly,” he said. “With PNOĒ, we’re finally moving toward truly personalized health solutions.”

Making Longevity Accessible to All

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of PNOĒ’s technology is its accessibility. What was once the domain of elite sports labs and academic institutions is now available in clinics and fitness centers. Users from teenagers to 94-year-olds have benefited from PNOĒ’s insights. And it’s not just about the numbers—it’s about the actionable changes they inspire.

“When people see their biological age improve or their VO2 max increase, it motivates them to stick with their health goals,” Atsalakis shared. “The data doesn’t just inform—it empowers.”

From Fitness to Medicine: A Tool for All Health Journeys

PNOĒ’s applications extend far beyond the gym. In medical settings, the device provides doctors with insights to craft precise treatment plans, from recommending IV drips tailored to micronutrient deficiencies to advising on exercise and dietary changes.

PNOĒ’s impact extends beyond fitness, offering valuable insights for medical professionals. Clinics like Liquivida® integrate PNOĒ with tools like DEXA scans, InBody analysis, and blood work to deliver a full-spectrum understanding of patient health. “This allows us to truly explore what’s happening beneath the surface,” Tejada said. “It’s about identifying the root of health challenges and addressing them with precise, science-backed solutions.”

The Power of Data in Health Transformation

At its core, PNOĒ represents a shift toward precision health. By integrating data from wearables like Oura Rings and tools like InBody, it creates a comprehensive view of health that guides everything from nutrition to exercise and recovery. “Without data, you’re just guessing,” Tejada said. “But with tools like PNOĒ, we’re giving people the answers they’ve been searching for.”

Atsalakis agreed, noting that the future of health lies in combining insights. “We’re making the PNOĒ test even easier and more insightful by integrating it with blood work and other diagnostics,” he shared. “The goal is to create a seamless, personalized experience that empowers people to take control of their health.”

Changing Lives, One Breath at a Time

PNOĒ is more than a device; it’s a catalyst for transformation. By making health data accessible, actionable, and personalized, it’s helping people live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. “We’re not just improving lives—we’re changing the course of medicine,” Tejada said.

As PNOĒ continues to grow, its potential to reshape the way we approach wellness and longevity is limitless. With every breath, it brings us closer to a future where health is not just maintained but optimized.
