There are people who spend years climbing a ladder only to realize they don’t actually want to be at the top of it.
Kavita Channe was one of them.
Before launching Sip Channe, the French rosé brand she founded in 2018, Channe had already built a successful career in television. She had covered sports, interviewed celebrities, worked alongside major media personalities, and appeared regularly on television. By most standards, she had made it.
Yet something didn’t feel right.
On a recent episode of “A Healthy Point of View” podcast, host Sam Tejada, CEO and Founder of Liquivida®, sat down with Channe for a wide-ranging conversation that touched on entrepreneurship, wellness, motherhood, and the sometimes uncomfortable process of changing direction in life.
For Channe, that change meant walking away from television altogether.

Creating Opportunities Instead of Waiting for Them
Getting into broadcasting wasn’t easy.
Early in her career, Channe discovered that entertainment television often rewarded a very specific image. Rather than continuing to compete in a space where she felt she did not naturally fit, she decided to try something different: sports.
There was one problem. She had no sports background. Instead of accepting defeat, she built her own platform.
Channe launched a YouTube series called First Down and Dirty, reaching out directly to athletes and sports figures for interviews. Little by little, she assembled a portfolio that eventually caught the attention of Fox Sports Florida. That opportunity led to covering high school football, working with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and later hosting television programs in Jacksonville.
Looking back, the lesson seems obvious: sometimes the fastest way into an industry is to stop waiting for permission.
A Childhood Shaped by Wellness
Long before words like “biohacking” became part of everyday conversation, Channe was growing up in a household where nutrition and wellness were already front and center.
Her father, originally a robotics engineer, became deeply interested in natural health after her younger sister was diagnosed with vitiligo. Frustrated by the lack of answers, he began researching supplements, nutrition, and alternative approaches to healing.
That search eventually evolved into a business.
As a child, Channe remembers green powders, vitamins, digestive support, and conversations about health being normal parts of everyday life. Those experiences stayed with her and continue to influence how she approaches wellness today.
She believes people should pay attention to how they feel, ask questions, and remain curious about their own health instead of blindly following trends.
The Moment Everything Changed
Although television had given her incredible experiences, Channe eventually began asking herself a difficult question.
Was this the life she wanted long-term?
She admired many of the people at the top of the industry, but she also recognized that their lifestyle wasn’t necessarily the one she wanted for herself. She craved more freedom, more travel, and more control over her schedule.
So she made a decision that surprised many people around her.
She left.
Not because television had failed her, but because she wanted something different.
“I wanted more freedom,” she explained during the conversation.
That desire eventually set her on a path she never expected.
Discovering French Rosé
The idea for Sip Channe started during travels through Europe.
While spending time in the South of France and Italy, Channe discovered a style of rosé that felt very different from what she had experienced back home. The wines were crisp, dry, and refreshing. Just as importantly, she noticed she felt better after drinking them.
Back in the United States, she struggled to find the same experience. Curiosity soon turned into a business idea.
Determined to learn more, Channe attended an international rosé conference in France. Surrounded by winemakers and industry veterans, she admits she had very little idea what she was doing. Even so, she trusted her instincts, kept learning, and eventually found the producer who would help bring Sip Channe to life. Eight years later, the company continues to grow.
Building a Business While Raising Children
Launching a company is challenging under any circumstances. Launching one while becoming a mother adds another layer entirely.
Shortly after starting Sip Channe, Channe became pregnant. Before long, she was juggling business meetings, product launches, and life with two young children.
Her children have essentially grown up alongside the company.
Today, she laughs about hearing them repeat the brand name around the house long before they fully understood what their mother actually did for a living.
Like many entrepreneurs, Channe says there is no such thing as perfect balance. Some days work requires more attention. Other days family comes first. The goal, she says, is not perfection but presence.
A Different Approach to Wine
Channe is careful not to market wine as a health product.
Instead, she describes Sip Channe as a cleaner option for adults who already choose to drink.
The wines are produced in France and are intentionally made with very little residual sugar. According to Channe, allowing the fermentation process to fully finish eliminates much of the sugar that remains in many commercial wines.
The company also focuses on keeping sulfite levels low.
For consumers who enjoy wine but want a simpler ingredient profile, that distinction matters.
Still, Channe repeatedly returns to the same idea: moderation.
She does not believe wellness should become another source of stress. Enjoying life, sharing meals, celebrating with friends, and occasionally indulging are all part of living well.
Trust Yourself
Toward the end of the conversation, Sam asked Channe what advice she would leave listeners with.
Her answer came quickly.
Trust yourself. Trust your instincts in business. Trust yourself in relationships. Trust yourself when making decisions about your health and your future.
Most importantly, don’t allow other people to decide what your life should look like.
As Channe sees it, each person gets to write their own story. The challenge, and the opportunity, is making sure it is a story that actually feels true to who they are.
For Channe, that meant leaving a successful television career behind and starting over in an entirely new industry.
It was a risk.
Looking back, it appears to have been the right one.
